Updates

Nothing really blog worthy to write about in the cooking field lately.  Oh, there was the beef stroganoff, some more halibut....

I'm working on making a mustard.  I've made some batches in the past and they've come out ok.  I tried to make some again and after a week of letting it sit in the fridge, the flavor just isn't right.  I think it was a mistake using white wine vinegar, instead of regular old white distilled.  Now that I look back at the photo, I think the use of the black mustard was a mistake too.  Shown in the measuring cup is some white wine.

Ok, maybe a lot of mistakes!  Old Bay??  I never used that before in mustard!

I'll make another batch with some modifications and a step by step process, so I will remember for next time!

Anyone reading this that belongs to the Porter Farms CSA??

About the root-beer, you read my mind. I actually have a couple bottles of extract that have been laying around, and bought fresh yeast a couple weeks ago. I am planning on making it soon, it's just that I've been trying to find something lower in calories (I know, banish the thought) than a traditional soda. But that won't stop me from brewing some root beer in the near future!

It's in the baby stages right now.  I may do something with the website too.  We'll see!
