What week am I on now? 15?? Plus *BONUS* update on my homemade black walnut stain ! NO EXTRA FEE !
To start, our new veggies!
Leeks (yum! I love leeks now)
Red Carmen Peppers
Cubanelle Peppers
Jalepeno Peppers
Purple Broccoli
Dinosaur Kale*
1 Tomatoe (It's the political season. Dan Quayle joke. Love ya Dan! See you next Saturday for dinner!)
Zucchini
Yellow Squash
Onions
Green Cabbage
Wow, that's a lot of food.
*I know it's Dinosaur Kale, because I had to fight off a Megalosaurus to get it out of the bag.

On to the Black Walnut Stain.
I received my Kenkel Hard-Shell Cracker to get at those pesky black walnuts. It has to be attached to something, so we got a big hunk a hunk a wood and why not stain it with the very substance it's going to demolish?
Those green (now black and brown) walnut hulls went into a bowl of water for about 4 days. This could have been 1 day, but I didn't have time to proceed. Then again, who knows...I've never done this before. This lovely mixture was then simmered for 30 minutes. Cooled. Simmered again.

This shows the first coat going on to the wood. Tomorrow will show the finished product.
